The City of Fort Valley has implemented a Stormwater Utility to more effectively fund the stormwater management program through a system of user fees dedicated solely to addressing stormwater management and drainage issues. This initiative ensures that all properties contribute their fair share for the stormwater services they receive.
Stormwater User Fee
A stormwater user fee is charged to all developed properties within the City based on the amount of impervious surface on the parcel. This method is considered more equitable, as it ensures that each property pays proportionately for the stormwater services provided.

User Fee Credit
The City offers stormwater user fee credits to both residential and non-residential customers who undertake specific stormwater management activities that may reduce the impact of stormwater on the City’s Stormwater Management Program. These credits provide an opportunity for property owners to lower their stormwater fees by implementing effective stormwater management practices.
