The City of Milledgeville’s Water & Sewer Department is proud to serve approximately 7,800 water customers and 6,500 sewer customers. The Water & Sewer Department operates the Lamar Ham Water Treatment Plant, which can produce 8.64 million gallons of water per day, as well as the James Baugh Water Treatment Plant, which can produce 3.88 million gallons of water per day. The department also operates the Water Pollution Control Plant, which can treat 10.5 million gallons of waste water per day. Additionally, the Water & Sewer Department maintains 200 miles of distribution waterlines and 233 miles of sewer collection waterlines.
The City of Milledgeville strives to provide the highest quality water and sewer services to its customers. The City is currently the recipient of the Platinum Award – which is given to treatment plants that meet all the state standards for water production – for its quality water treatment and waste water treatment systems.
